    Day 1

    3/14 8am

We will meet at the trailhead (specific directions will be provided) and begin our tour into Big Sheep Camp, our home base for the weekend. Babes Outside does not provide transportation to the trailhead, so be prepared to drive your personal vehicle there and leave it for the duration of the trip. The skin into Big Sheep Camp is roughly 4 miles with a gradual elevation gain of 900 feet. It will take us between 3-4 hours to reach Big Sheep Camp. For the skin in, participants will carry their day packs. Your guides, Mia and Caroline, will tow in all of the food and group gear.

After we arrive at the hut, we will have lunch, re-charge and get ready for an afternoon of backcountry skiing. We will discuss topics such as terrain choice, snowpack, safe travel, and decision making while getting in some laps! In the evening, we'll eat dinner and get the sauna ripping to sweat out any sore spots. At night, settle into one of the two sleep cabins, both with beds and woodburning stoves.

    Day 2

    3/15

This is our full day of backcountry skiing, and we plan to take advantage of it! We will fuel up with a delicious breakfast and get ready for a big day of touring. Big Sheep Camp has access to a variety of terrain, and Mia and Caroline will design a tour for the day taking into account current weather and avalanche conditions. Depending on conditions, we’ll likely pack a lunch, then run through a few rescue scenarios, before hitting the mountains to eat up all the awesome skiing in the Wallowa’s. When we’re tuckered out, we’ll head back for another delicious dinner, sauna, and yoga session.

    Day 3

    3/16

We will wake up in the beautiful Wallowa Mountains and enjoy our last morning of the trip. We will spend the majority of this day skiing. We’ll eat breakfast, make our lunch, and pack up our gear. We will stash our gear near the hut and depart for a day of touring with just our day packs. We’ll return to the hut and plan to be back at the trailhead and our vehicles by 4pm.
